Quick Tips for Lasting Weight Loss

  • Start each day with a peaceful practice, whatever works for you; meditation, yoga stretches, or a walk in nature.
  • Let go of ALL processed sugars, including both natural and artificial ones. This includes: Stevia, aspartame, dried fruit, honey, maple syrup, molasses, corn syrup, cane products, maltose, dextrose, coconut crystals, etc. If it tastes sweet to the tongue it will activate the brain chemistry response that will demand more of it.
  • Let go of ALL processed grains. This is not a gluten elimination (although that is recommended) it is to eliminate all processed food that has been refined into a powder of any kind, thereby breaking down the fiber strand and causing an insulin spike when eaten.
  • Eat three meals a day in managed portions. No seconds. No desserts. No snacks.
    To work with your body’s natural circadian rhythms, eat your last bite of the day three hours before you go to sleep for the night.
  • Turn off any source of blue light (TV, computers, tablets, or cell phones) at least 30 minutes before going to bed.
  • At the end of the day pre-plan what you are going to eat the next day so you are prepared and know you have the means to follow through with your plan (groceries on hand).
  • Keep a gratitude journal and make an entry before going to bed.
  • Get at least seven or eight hours of sleep each night.
